Crack Is Wack
This Gothamist post, featuring a photo of a poor little rat stuck in a NYC sidewalk, has generated a lot of Photoshop creativity, as people have reinterpreted the original photo (seen here). Apparently the rat had already expired by the time tipster Wayne sent in his photograph. So it's a very sad photo, but not as sad as it could be. Post-sadly sad.
Anyway, Gothamist used two of my submissions:
Karl Lagerfeld Solidarity version:

And this Holiday-Festive Rat:

BONUS: The Amy Winemouse. We told you to stay away from the crack, Amy.

My Chicagoist Interview with Laurie Lindeen
It makes sense to start posting links to my interviews with artists. Click here to read my latest Q&A with Zuzu's Petals frontwoman and writer Laurie Lindeen. I've listed this interview and others I have done for both Chicagoist and Gapers Block to the right. Lots of interesting people!

Steadman "Pepper" Gray, Brother of Spalding, Scolding His Dog for Turning on the Singing Fish Too Often.
$50. Vellum and colored pencil, 9x12".
Spalding Gray did not have a brother named Pepper, BTW. Pepper is the product of a conversation with Chicago artist Eric Lebofsky, who has work up at Western Exhibitions (in Chi) right now. Go look at it.
